Toddler Nap Time
As a parent of a toddler, I live for nap time. As I’m sure a lot of parents do. The question is though - what will we do when the nap times subside?
That would really depend on your childs age. Even if they’re starting to fade from taking naps, or if napping is stopping them from sleeping through the night (much like my dilemma), we could use some advice and help. The tips I found can be found at Parents.com.
- At 18 months, toddlers still need atleast 1 nap a day.
- 2-3 year olds need 10-12 hours of sleep at night and 1-2 hours of sleep during the day
- To make the most out of naptime, have your toddler lay down at approximately the same time each day.
- Have a nap time routine. A book before nap, or right after lunch are good examples.
As we can see, nap time is important to both of us - child and parent. Weither or not we get it. If nap time is a no go, have relaxing time. Just a point where your child sits and relaxes. Even if they don’t go to sleep, they are calming down atleast. I recommend clicking the link to parents.com and reading the article I found the points at. It might give you a much more detailed insite into nap time than I wrote about.
Most of all, if you have nap time dilemma like I do, good luck. And think, soon they will be in school. You will have a half day break when that day comes!
