Escaping An Abusive Relationship
An abusive relationship can be a tricky thing, and not easy to get out of. Abuse in a relationship isn’t limited to violence either. If the other person belittles you, makes you feel inferior, basically just verbally abuses you - that is also abuse. No one deserves to be hit, and no one deserves to be put down all the time.
If you are in a dangerous relationship like this, here are some tips on how to escape.
- Talk to someone you trust.
- Record in a diary or journal about what has all been done to you, starting from the beginning.
- Avoid contact with the person.
- If things are physical, and the person is hitting you, go to the police. Get something done to stop it.
If you are too scared to run, just try to tell someone about it. A parent, a friend, whoever. Tell someone. They can help you find the strength to save yourself. Also, if writing it all down hurts you too much, then don’t. Just in some cases writing about it can have a healing affect. But each person is different. No matter what though, you are not the bad guy. The person who was verbally and/or physically hurting you is.
