When To Link

More often than not, if you blog - then you’ve linked.  You’ve probably linked to other blogs, news articles, or anything else you might have come across on the web.

 The real question is: When should we link?  Their are so many good blogs, sites, ect. on the web.  Our sidebars can’t hold them all!  If you want to link to someone, stick to your regular reads or favorites on your sidebar.  For the other things, write a post about them.  If you write about it, you’re giving your honest impression on that site/news/ect that interested you, and you’re still doing the link that you wanted.  Or you could always do a once a month “Good things on the web” post.  That way you can still share all those favorites of yours that didn’t make it to the sidebar.

In general, most sites appreciate it when people link to them.  If, for any reason, a site doesn’t want you to link to them it is best to go with their wishes and take down the link.  I’ve never heard of this happening, but if it ever did… their is no reason to worry about it.  It is their loss, not yours
