Making A Good Poll

Whether you’re a blogger looking for an opinion, or have a website and you want to know more about your visitors, polls are used all the time.  They can be fun, or they can be serious.  Their really isn’t all that much to making a poll.

  • Come up with a good question.  If you want to make a poll, you will need a good poll like question to use.  For example, “Did you enjoy your visit?” or “What is your favorite book genre?”
  • Find a good poll host.  If you don’t know how to make a poll from scratch [most people don't], you will want to find a good website to host your poll.  Some examples would be polldaddy, or even a much more simple looking pollcode.com.
  • Alter the poll to fit into your website layout.  Depending on the poll host you use, you can alter the poll format to the colors of your website, or however else you want it to look.  Some will even let you change the fonts, and so on.
  • Post it.  Figure out where you want your poll at on your site, and post it.  Whether you want it on your sidebar, or if you plan on using it in a post on your blog.  Figure out where you want it, and place it there.

Like I said, it’s pretty simple to make a good poll.  Just follow what I said above, and you should have a pretty nifty poll in no time!
