It’s All About Location
By Angel | August 26th, 2007 | Category: Recent Updates |I don’t know about everyone else, but here in Michigan it’s not the heat that kills you so much as the humidity added onto the heat. If it’s a simple 95 degrees, I can deal with it. It’s hot but it’s a tolerable hot. On the other hand if it’s something like 85 degrees - 95 degrees with humidity, I’m sweating and sitting in a pool isn’t nearly enough to make it feel better.
That’s why people don’t mind living in most southern states, even though they’re hot. Places like Florida or Arizona are known for their heat, but their heat is a dry heat that doesn’t tack on humidity like it does up here in the northern states.
That is why if you’re considering moving from a state like Michigan, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to check out some Phoenix real estate. Arizona may be hot, but it doesn’t have that humidity to make it feel like you’re dying as badly as it does up here. Of course you’d still be hot, but their type of dry heat might actually be a relief for you when it comes to what you suffer from in states like where I’m at. Also, be realistic. You will want AC to stay cool, just because it’s a drier heat doesn’t mean you can’t still get over heated.
