Updating Your Wordpress Blog

I would like to take a moment to apologize for the downtime this morning. I was upgrading Ask Angel [and am currently upgrading my other blogs as well] to the newest wordpress version [2.3.2].

So I wanted to use this as my post for today by making sure everyone knows the importance of keeping your wordpress version up to date. And honestly their is one huge reason why: The safety of your blog. With each upgrade is bug fixes amongst other fixes that help keep your blog secure. Just as virus and spyware scans are important for your computer, keeping your blog up-to-date is also important.

The fun part of keeping the wordpress version up-to-date for your blog would have to be the neat features that comes with it. With many of the updates you’ll find new things with your blog that turns out to be really neat and makes the process of updating a little easier, or something else a little easier, more interesting, etc. The only way you can enjoy new features is by updating when new updates become available.

So I would like to urge anyone running a wordpress blog to remember to keep everything up to date for the sake of your blog. I have gone a long time, in the past, without doing the needed updates and have faced problems. I wouldn’t wish that same trouble on other websites.
