Fun Fitness Ideas

When someone says exercise, chances are the first thing you think of is the gym. Running, lifting weights, or bicycling. Well, their are many more options out there that people tend not to think of. But they are a form of exercise for your body, and they’re fun. So what are some of these ideas?

  • Karate: This should be a given. Karate keeps you very active. You’re moving around. This is a great outlet for those with pent up energy. Mental and physical energy. It can help relieve stress as well as keep you moving and teach you new skills.
  • Yoga: You may not think it, but yoga can help you exercise your muscles. If you’ve watched the Biggest Loser, on NBC, then you probably already know some of the benefits that can be found through yoga. You burn calories, and it can help jump-start your metabolism.
  • Sports: Basketball, baseball, football and so on. They’re all great exercise and calorie burners. You have fun without concentrating on how much weight you might lose. It also works your muscles in good ways. You don’t have to be on a team to enjoy some things. Basketball can be played one on one. Baseball you can have a friend toss the ball, or you can. Then take turns chasing the ball when it’s hit. Enjoy yourself.
  • Walking: I’m big on walking and I know their are many different ways to go about it. If you like to shop, why not go window shopping? Walk long distances, explore everything that you want to look at. Go for a hike. You’d be surprised how far you could walk if you just listen to some music while you do it.

Just think about things that you enjoy. If its an activity that can keep you moving, then go for it! Do more of it. Get yourself moving more. And if you’re looking for a reason to clean house, that’s an activity as well that you can consider.
