Part 1: The Positives Of Being A Work-At-Home Mom
By Angel | February 13th, 2008 | Category: All Articles |
I did a list like this some time back, and I thought it’d be fun to do it again. Today is part one of a two part advice article on being a work-at-home mom. Today I’m going to cover the good things, and on Friday I’ll be covering the negatives. If you’re a WAHM, then you’ll enjoy reading and agreeing. If you want to be one, then you’ll get the benefit of hearing both sides of being one and make your own decision. After all, working from home is not for everyone.
The Positives Of Being A Work-At-Home Mom?
Their are many things that make being a WAHM, good. These are the common reasons among mothers as for why they choose to work from home. As well as some personal reasons why I enjoy working from home.
- No commute. You only need to walk as far as the computer. If the weather is bad, you have the option of just staying home. Their’s no need to go out in it to get to work.
- Flexability. Of course when you work at home you need to make sure your family will know when you are and are not available, but you’re given the chance to be more available to the needs of your kids when you work from home. The morning doctor appointment will not force you to lose money because you have to miss work. Your life becomes more flexible for your needs.
- Be your own boss. Yes, I know, this one gets said a lot. It’s a popular tag line in any work-from-home opportunity. It’s true, though. Their is a lot of benefit in being your own boss. You don’t have someone above you that’ll yell or snap at you for every little mistake you make. They won’t take credit for your hard work. It’s all you. Best of all, you don’t have to worry about being fired.
- Tax deductions. They’re fun. You will have expenses, but you’ll get to deduct them when you do taxes. Use the internet for work? There’s a possible deduction. Buy a computer for work? Their’s a possible deduction. Just consider the possibilities!
Do you know of any positive reasons why you enjoy working from home? Share them with us in the comments. I’d love to hear what everyone has to say!
