Throwing A Party

There can be so much to the party process that it can feel a bit daunting. Here are some ideas of my own to help get you through the process:

  • Decide on a theme. You’ll want to get this out of the way first. If there is going to be a theme, make sure you will have everything you will need available to be purchased. Or else you might find yourself falling a little short of what you’re looking for.
  • Make your party list. Who would you like to be there? Write all of their names down. When you’re done get out your party invitations and fill them out. Ask for people to RSVP by a date. This will help you make a good final decision on anything you’ll need.
  • Purchase the rest of your party supplies. I saved this step after the invitations for a reason. Once everyone has RSVPed in for the party by your specified date, now you know how much of what you need. Don’t forget to get a few extras just in case of any surprise visitors. It doesn’t hurt to have a little more than needed. it can be a last minute lifesaver.
  • Finish the details. If there is going to be catering, get them set up. If you’re cooking for the party yourself, get all the ingredients you’ll need around and don’t forget to recruit willing helpers. Most importantly, get what you can done in advance. That way only the most urgent things can be done on the day itself. If a certain food can be made in advance and refrigerated, take advantage of it.

In the end, hopefully your party will be a blast and will go off without a hitch!
