Give A Gift From The Heart By Making It Yourself!

Everyone always says that it is the thought that counts and they are right. No store bought gift will ever compare to something you’ve put time and effort into. If you are a talented individual, draw on that talent to create your own holiday gifts for friends and family!
- Paint.
- Knit/Crochet.
- Sew.
- I used an example for the photo with this post, but it goes beyond standard painting. You could paint on something, for instance. Looking through your craft store, I bet you can find many wonderful little trinkets like wooden jewelry boxes or figurines that you could paint. Take advantage of it and use that as your DIY gift this holiday season!
- This is a learned hobby which can take time before anything you make will come out recognizable. It’s not for everyone, but if it happens to be a hobby that you have learned to enjoy… take advantage of it! Some of the most useful items, like hats or scarves, are easy to knit or crochet while it takes little time. They also make wonderful gifts. If you are feeling creative or have children you need to send a gift to, maybe you could also try your hand at knitting/crocheting a teddy bear or doll. Wonderful patterns for either item exist all over the internet. Just look.
- For some sewing comes naturally. For others that might not be so natural. If you can pick up the basics of sewing using a machine, the possibilities for what you can create are endless! This doesn’t mean you need to sew up a wardrobe but you could make some fancy looking purses. Maybe you could sew up a nifty baby or toddler blanket for a child in your life? Think of all those wonderful little things you’ve seen and figure out if there is a way for you to make it on your own!
