Creating A List Of New Year Resolutions Is Good For You. Really.

While some people use the month of December to brainstorm changes they’d like to make in the new year, others refuse to follow the trend. It’s just another year, what does it matter if you enter into it with hope for change?
Because the new year is the perfect time to consider acting on that change.
Okay, so any time is a good time to do something new in your life. Tomorrow might be a good time, or maybe next week. How about right now?
The new year has one thing that tomorrow doesn’t have, the appearance of change. The year is changing, why not use a little of that change on yourself? Well, it’s not that easy. You can say you’ll change something but, as many people have found, saying and doing are two different things.
So I urge you to sit down and write a list of things that you’d like to change in your life. When you’re done, narrow that list a bit. Make sure the changes you’re asking from yourself are reasonable. You may not learn how to fly without wings during the next year but you might drop 20lbs if you work hard enough.
Once you have your reasonable list of ideas, it’s time to plan for execution. Think of your resolutions like you would a business. What steps need to be taken for you to reach that goal? What will factor into your success? Planning is a huge step and it’s the one step that most people forget to take when they write out their list. Once you have a stable plan, you’re ready to succeed.
Now you have a list and a plan, so what happens next? Execution. Launch into the new year with your list of goals. Get started on the 1st. Don’t allow yourself to procrastinate. The sooner you get started, the sooner you’ll mark off a goal from your set of resolutions.
