Entrepreneurs In The News

Here are some more entrepreneurs to admire, be inspired by, or simply learn more about:

  • Renee Williams | Sipatiniz | Source

There is a classic look about the martini glass that everyone seems to love, and hate. If you’ve ever drank from a martini glass then you’re probably aware of how easy it is to spill your drink. While we might be crying over spilled martini, Renee spotted an opportunity. The Sipatiniz glass offers a spill resistant style. Using the traditional glass shape, she added a lip to the edge of the glass which reduces the risk of spills.

  • Louise Sutton | Chat & Play Cafe | Source

When Louise had her 2nd child, she found it hard to find the time to visit with friends.  Her experience in trying to find a place that was child friendly grew into something new, her business.  The Chat & Play Cafe offers parents a place to sit and visit with friends while, for $2 per child, their children can play within the play area and entertain themselves.  If this sounds like something you could use in your own town, they also offer franchise opportunities.

  • Jennifer McCoy | Pins and Needles Basket and An Apron A Day | Source

When you have a touch of creativity and an interest in business, what do you have? A handcrafted business!  That is exactly what Jennifer has. This young Grand Rapids, Michigan, resident has started a part-time home business selling vintage-inspired aprons along with her amazing knit (and crochet) products.  She has her creations split up among two Etsy stores.  I will always hold a warm place in my heart for the handmade, and Jennifer portrays the best of what a handmade business can do.
