When Is The Last Time You Offered Your Hand To Help Another?

When was the last time you offered your hand in friendship to a stranger?  When was the last time you simply smiled at someone while walking by?  When was the last time you did a kind deed just because you could?

The economy has many good people feeling down.  While some have lost their jobs, others are trying very hard to keep the one they have.  Some entrepreneurs are seeing a decline in business, while others are struggling to come up with plans for staying a float.  Yet, no matter how bad your life has gotten, somewhere there is a person who is suffering a little more than you.  Somewhere there is a person who could use a simple act of kindness to brighten their day.

Rather than dwell on what has us down, we need to focus on what can bring us back.  We need to remember to smile at the people going by because that kindness is contagious.  If you can take one moment to do something for another, it’ll reflect on your own day.  The moment you’ve made someone forget about their problems long enough to smile, is the moment you remember that there is more than just you in this world that needs a moment of reassurance.

While your worries won’t go away, and it will take action on your part to take care of your needs, you should never forget the people around you.  They might be in the same boat as you and need a little positive energy too.
