When Was The Last Time You Bothered To Check Your Business Out Online?

16 July 2009 No Comment

Businesses network because they want to be found.  Unless they keep their presence up-to-date regularly they might also be sharing false information with potential customers!

facebookprofileJust having your profile out there on dozens of networks is not good enough.  You have to be active on each network too.  That is why it is important for all businesses to network smart instead of in bulk.  Smart networking will bring in new customers.  Bulk networking, while it will offer a lot of search hits for your business name, will only become outdated with time.

To keep your presence from becoming outdated you should regularly review what you have written in your profile.  Depending on how often things change with your business, this could be once a month or once every 3 months.

Your social networks aren’t the only places you need to look.  Keeping your website up-to-date is an absolute must!  How can your customers know when something new is happening within your company if you don’t bother to update your information?

Don’t believe me?  I have recently gone through and updated the information on all of the networks I’m active with and checked out my own websites to make sure all of that information was up-to-date.  Know what I found?  It wasn’t.

I could never emphasize the importance of doing this more than I am now.  Take a few moments right now to do it, I’ll accept your thanks later. :)
