County Fair or Opportunity To Sell Your Product?
According to the coupons I have for our local county fair, the time has come for me to wish I could go for yet another year. This is fair time, where people from all over will attend their own local county or state fairs. The same rides, I really like that pirate ship, the same barns filled with people showing or selling stuff, and the perfect opportunity for a little cheap promotion.
Cheap promotion? What the heck am I talking about, right?
I know what I am saying, because it is true. A little can go a long way by simply attending a fair. Just imagine how packed the parking areas will be. So you pay a few dollars to park on the grounds, place a sign in your front and back windows while your car sits there all day, leaving it for countless people to read while you’re enjoying the day. That few dollars to park your car is all you had to pay to get your ad read by more than a few people.
If parked advertising isn’t enough, make sure you have your business cards and a few product samples on hand. If your product can be worn, wear it. If it can be easily carried with you, carry it.
The next time you meet someone while waiting in line for a ride to open up or to buy some fair food (isn’t that why we all go?), you will be prepared with your information and a little something to dazzle them with. While this doesn’t mean you should go into sales(wo)man mode with everyone you meet, you should be ready to share just a little more information with anyone that might find interest in it. A great impression can go a long way when it comes to making a sale, and that includes casual acquaintances.
So if you were previously unsure about heading out to your own local fair or event, hopefully I’ve changed your mind. While you eat that deliciously bad for you food, remember that you are doing it for business! It’s just a small sacrifice that you have to make.
