6 must-do activities in Phuket

One of Thailand most favourite tourist destinations is Phuket. An island in the south of Thailand, surrounded by pristine beaches and endless things to see and do, from traditional markets to breath-taking sites of nature to cultural towns and places where the nightlife bursts of colours and excitement. Everything for an amazing holiday is found in Phuket! Here are 6 must-do activities on the island:

  1. Explore the beaches

Powdery white sand beaches, clear blue waters just perfect for swimming and snorkelling, leafy palm trees, what more could you wish for? Phuket is surrounded by idyllic beaches overlooking the infinite ocean, blending in with the clear blue sky. Go beach hopping to find wonderfully remote places as well as lively beaches where you can have drinks with friends and fun with water sports.

  1. Visit the lively Naka weekend Market

The Naka weekend Market is an amazing night bazaar located in Phuket Town. A big, lively market full of colours, scents, and people. You can spend hours here just wandering around, practising on your bargaining skills, buying some souvenirs or even shoes, bags, and pirate DVDs. Everything imaginable is available at the Naka Market and the prices are very cheap. Expect everything to be fake and not too great in quality 🙂

Then, head over to the most important section of the market: the food!. Here, you can munch a whole lot of delicious Thai street food, the best there is!

  1. Check out Bangla Road in Patong

You cannot miss out on the exciting nightlife when visiting Phuket. Make your way through the colours, the craziness, the neon lights and the liveliness of Bangla Road. You will see buckets and buckets of alcohol, an abundance of transvestites, happening nightclubs and street vendors trying to get you to visit the ping pong show. Bangla road is not for everyone. You will either love it or hate it, but you won’t know unless you go there and see for yourself!

  1. Rejoice at Phuket Fantasea

This cultural entertainment park is said to be the ultimate Thai theme park packed with beautiful Thai Buildings and golden Buddha’s. There are lots of activities and you can see elephant shows, traditional dances, acrobats, markets and dine at a grand buffet restaurant. All of this is found within this enchanting Fantasy Park, sitting on 140 acres of tropical land.

  1. Stay in your own private luxury villa

The island of Phuket has got some amazing villas you can stay at, suitable to all kinds of budgets. What could be nicer than having your own private holiday retreat to come home to after another wonderful beach day or day trip? Or, why not just spend a full day lounging in your own private garden by the poolside, swimming, sipping cocktails and relaxing with your loved ones. Holidaying doesn’t get more relaxing than this!

  1. Temples, Buddha’s and viewpoints

Phuket is home to numerous viewpoints with magnificent views of Phuket town and the endless white sand beaches. Be sure to check out Karon Viewpoint and Monkey Hill. Another highlight is the white Burmese, 45-meter Big White Buddha sitting on top of the highest hill of Phuket island. Quite mind blowing to stand next to this majestic sculpture, taking in the enchanting views of the island.
