The Job Hunt

Let’s put it this way, going on the job hunt isn’t always easy. It can be nerve-wrecking, and tiring.

The real question is, “How many places should I apply at, at one time?” That would depend on you. How many different applications can you keep track of at once? Sometimes it’s better to only have 3 or 4 out and around to call on, than it is to have 18 or 20 to keep track of.

What should you do? Fill out applications at as many places as you want to start with. Generally try to keep it around 5. It’s a good number, and you’re more likely to try harder to get a job at these places. Call about your application atleast a week after you’ve filled it out. That is when you will know if they’re currently hiring. If they’re not hiring, then you get to cross them off your list and move on. Those that are hiring will tell you how soon it will be before they choose people to interview, or they might offer you one on the spot.

If none of those work out, move on and apply at some other places. Then go through the routine all over again. With luck, you will hopefully find a job.

The job hunt is never easily, but hopefully - with persistance - you will eventually find a job. I can’t tell you if you’ll enjoy it, but it’s a job!
