First off, does the mom to be have a baby registry? Sometimes that can be the best way to go. Ask if she has one. Then you can look at the items she wants. Hopefully keeping the gift in a budget you can afford.

If the mom to be doesn’t have a baby registry, that is when the fun begins. Unless you want to get expensive, it is best to get traditional things. Clothes for the baby to be, socks, or diapers. All important things that the child will need. If you want something quick and simple, you could always buy one of those premade basket sets. They have some great bathtime ones that come with all the bath items the mom to be could ever need.

No matter what though, try to check in with what she is still in need of. That way you don’t get her a bag of newborn diapers - when she already has 3 at home. Useful also doesn’t mean pricey. Socks are sometimes an often not thought of gift, but can be very appreciated.
