When Is Jealousy Ok?

his question is generally easy to answer. It’s not okay to be jealous. In general, people who get jealous tend to suffer from a form of insecurity. Whether they’re insecure in themselves, or in their relationship.

If you’re feeling a case of jealousy coming on, evaluate why you feel this way. Is it because s/he spends so much time with this other person? Is it because they seem to like hanging out with them more than you? Does s/he seem more interested in confiding with someone else over you? Naming your own problem can help fix the problem you have with jealousy. If the problem is somewhere in the relationship, you can talk to your significant other about it. Let them know why. If it’s something emotional in you, then that gives you the opportunity to work on it.

Jealousy can be very detramental to a relationship. Pinpointing the reason for those feelings can make it easier on you, and will help take some of the kinks out of your relationship so it’ll work much more smoothly. Once you’ve got the reason ‘why’ down, then figure out ways you can work on it so it won’t be a problem in the future.
