When Does Love Turn Into Dependancy?
e’ve all seen it, but chances are we can’t see it in ourselves. That someone who is so attached to a boyfriend or girlfriend, that they won’t let go of them - no matter how badly they get treated, cheated on or lied to.
Quite honestly, if you find yourself with someone who doesn’t seem to give a damn about you… yet you still don’t want to leave them, that would be the biggest sign of dependancy. Dependancy can also mean insecurity. Some other signs would be the need to be with that person almost all the time, the need to know where your significant other is at all times, extreme jealousy, and so on. Those are general signs of dependancy/over protectiveness.
If you want to control your dependancy on someone, the best thing to do would be to specify your specific insecurities that makes you that way in the first place. Is it a need for love? Is it the fear of being alone? Identifying and taking control of these factors can help you take control of yourself and not feel the need to stick with someone, even if they treat you badly.
