Making A New Hobby

One thing I’ve found is true for me is that after doing a hobby for some period of time, I’m ready to learn something new. I recently got that itch and took up making hemp jewelry. Starting with nothing, I had to find something that would interest me and I think I’d enjoy. That turned out to be a little harder than I thought.
I have a couple ideas that might help you find the type of hobby or craft you’re looking for. My first tip is to go to your local craft store [or the craft section in your favorite store] and just simply walk around it. Look at the different things they offer for crafts and hobbies that you could take up. If you find something that interests you then find a book with instructions about that hobby, look up tips online, or just have a go at it. That really depends on the hobby or craft you decide to take on and whether or not it already comes with instructions on how to do it. For example, if you want to learn to knit or crochet you can find instructions on how to start with the basics in cheap books found in the knitting and crochet area of your craft store.
If going through your craft store doesn’t spark any inspiration in you, you can always simply pick up a book that carries a variety of craft ideas in it and look at it to see if you can find any inspiring ideas. Look at your craft store for books that generalize on a variety of different crafts or hobbies you could take up and use that for inspiration.
Picking up a new hobby can be frustrating, but more than anything it should be lots of fun!
