Back To School
If school hasn’t started yet for kids, then it should be next week. Back to school is a time to look forward to [generally for parents], a time to dread [mostly for the kids], and a time to worry about money.
The great thing, though, is that back to school time doesn’t have to break your bank. Of course the school supplies are pretty manageable. The prices for those can actually go down as far as $.10 for notebooks. But the clothing prices still manage to be expensive.
It’s not the end of the world though. If you’re on a budget and you’re looking for something that your kids will like, then try going to yard sales and 2nd hand [used items] stores. It is still yard sale season, so if you look in your paper for listings for them, by hitting the yard sales you’re bound to find some good clothing that your kids will like, and for low prices. With 2nd hand stores, you get that same opportunity. They can offer some great used [or sometimes new] items that would normally cost so much more brand new.
If you have a kid that doesn’t like wearing used items or yard sale items, then that’s a whole different advice post. ![]()
