Home Remedies: Gas

Their are mainly 2 things that cause gas. Food and swallowing air. Some of the foods that are commonly known for causing gas are cabbage, beans, bran, onions, etc. Just use your own judgment. If you are having problems with gas avoid alcohol, spicy foods and caffeine because that can make it worse.

If you think the gas problem you have might be from swallowing too much air, their are ways to avoid that as well. To decrease how much air you get in your stomach eat smaller meals, chew more thoroughly, and try avoiding chewing gum. Chewing gum is a common way people end up swallowing air.

One last tip, if you have gas try not to make yourself burp. It can make things worse. You’ll burp when you need to.
