Trick Or Treating Treats That Are Not So Bad

When it comes time for Halloween, costumes are not the only problem. Finding a treat you won’t feel guilty for is another problem.

All the candy that seems to be given out this time of year is packed full of unhealthy sugars and calories. If you want to give away something that isn’t as bad, then maybe you should read on.

My first recommendation would be swedish fish. See if you can find them individually wrapped in the candy isle of your favorite store. The reason why I recommend this candy is because it is a good alternative to a snickers or milky way. If you give out a yummy swedish fish treat this year, I’m sure many parents will be thanking you. Not to mention, this treat is a classic!

If you’d like to go along the same lines at the swedish fish, you could always buy fruit snacks. They’re in the snack isle in general. Fruit snacks are yummy, it doesn’t hurt to go for the ones made with real juice, and they don’t have the fat and calories of other candies.

My third recommendation would have to be lollipops. I call these the “lesser evil”. They have sugar and such, but they’re not as bad as chocolate.

And my favorite of all time would have to be a tootsie roll. Sure it’s chocolaty, okay so it may have sugar, but would you rather your child go for the tootsie roll or the candy bar? Now you can probably see why I had to add this to my list of “not so bad” treats.
