Making Picking Up Toys Fun
One thing I’ve learned from experience is that, if you make it fun for them they will do it.
That is exactly how I get my daughter to pick up her toys each night. If it works for me, I am hoping it could work for others as well.
I make the chore of picking up toys fun for her. We make it a competition. The next time you need your kids to pick up their toys try exactly that.
For the toys that aren’t going to break, see what it takes to make a basket. Who can make the most baskets in the fastest amount of time.
Another fun approach is making it all a race. Set the timer for one minute [this works best if you have more than one kid. I don't so it's between me and my daughter.]. Make sure you have as many containers as you need per kid. Once the timer starts, each kid has to get as many toys as possible in their container. Whoever has the most toys wins. The person with the least amount has to finish picking them up.
