Doing Good Without Much Effort: GoodSearch

GoodSearch: You Search...We Give!

If you’ve ever wanted to donate to a cause, but couldn’t really afford to, their’s a neat online option that you can consider.

GoodSearch, by Yahoo!, gives you the option to donate to your favorite charity by simply using their search engine. If you go through them to buy from one of a variety of stores, a percentage of what you spend will also be donated to the charity that you choose.

If you can not find the charity that you would like to support, you can also include the needed information to have them added to the list. The school I wanted to support was not listed so I have requested to have it added to their list and now I’m just waiting for them to get it added. It generally takes a couple days according to the information they give when you add the charity/school of your choice. Just make sure it really is not listed before you go about getting it listed.

Even if you’ve never considered donating to a charity, you should use GoodSearch. You don’t have to have a favorite charity, donate to any charity that fits your fancy. Just select any charity that suits something that interests you and search under them. Or change charities occasionally so you can donate a little bit to everyone using your activity.

If you like to buy from places like ebay, overstock.com, etc, they are listed on the GoodSearch store list so your charity can get a percentage of what you spent for an item, without you having to pay any extra.
