Promote Your Website: Blog Comments

There are so many different forms of promotion for websites. Some of the most simple, free, versions are as easy as leaving a comment on someone else’s blog.

I am not saying you should go around and on every blog you can find write a comment that says, “Go to my website for a good time http://blahblah.com.” Good, honestly related comments is a great way to promote whatever your website is about. How?

If you have a website that makes website templates find blogs about these sort of things and leave related comments on their posts. Something like, “I like the style used in that layout shown here” will go much farther and people will be intrigued enough to check out the link you gave in the URL part of your comment. Intelligent, related comments can go a long ways. Much farther than any spam and can also grow the flow coming in of potential customers because they liked what you had to say.

For someone not sure where to start, the Google blog search can be a great resource. A variety of blogs are included in that search engine and they also offer a blog alert that when any post on the topic you chose comes up, you can receive an email alerting you. Then you can check out that post and leave your own comment on it. It’s also a great way to find new interesting blogs you’d like to visit regularly.

Interacting and placing yourself in conversations of this sort on a topic you have a website based on can really give you an edge that others will see when they come across your comment on those posts.
