Saving Money On Vacation

With the price of necessities, no one seems to have the extra cash they used to for vacations. It is time to save. Which means cutting back on some things and working around obstacles to make a vacation work. So what can be done exactly?

Here is my bulleted list of ideas that might help ease the financial hurt of traveling and other ideas that can make the costs more reasonable.

  • Do your best to go in one vehicle. If there is more than one adult, split the gas costs. This is a big one. Splitting the costs equally makes things so much easier on everyone.
  • Leave the RV at home, take a car instead. It might be a little more cramped but you’ll find yourself actually saving money by just taking the car and staying in hotels.
  • Shop online for the best discounts possible. From coupons for food and accessories (yes they do exist. Shop around.) to discounts on hotels in the area you will be visiting. Don’t be afraid to bargain shop.

These 3 things can single handedly save a vacation. If you’re looking for a little more, it doesn’t hurt to also take a chance with a campground and sleep in tents. Especially if you’re someone who already enjoys being in the nature and don’t mind sleeping on a hard surface. :)
