Home Exchange Vacations

I don’t know how many people have heard about them, but home trading is becoming a popular vacation option among those that are interested in saving money while still getting to visit different great places around the world. From an apartment in Paris to a home in Montana.

A quick Google search can help you find some of the top home exchange websites. There is just one important item to emphasize when considering something of this sort: home insurance.

Just as it’s a cheap vacation, things can happen. If the person in your home was to get injured, you’d really need that home insurance to help cover any bills or fees that might be incurred from the accident. It’s very important to take care and cover all those potential problems before they can happen. Home insurance can help take the edge off any worry because your guests will be covered, leaving you relieved of that liability.

Members at Homeforswap.com are doing just that.

Home For Swap is a web site that allows members to exchange homes with each other. It’s a growing trend and offers many advantages over paying for a hotel room.

How it works http://www.Homeforswap.com

First you decide where you want to vacation in the world and Home For Swap displays the home listings available in that area. After reading about the home, neighborhood, owners, amenities, and viewing detailed photos and videos, with a click of a button you private message the member and you are on your way.

Home For Swap is popular because it offers a unique vacation experience.

Members get to know other members, share vacation exchange advice, leave feedback, and be a part of a growing community.

When you travel to someone else’s home you also get immersed in the culture, not just the tourist areas. You meet the real people and dine at the local hot spots. If you want a midnight snack just walk down to the kitchen. Best of all the exchange is free !

Thanks for drawing attention to the fact that those taking part in a home exchange should take care to check that their home insurance will remain valid while home exchange guests are living in their home.

Generally Home Base Holidays members find that their insurance companies are happy with exchanges as homes are much safer from burglaries when occupied than if left empty for weeks. When contacting your home insurance company be sure to make it clear that non paying home exchange guests will be living in your home and taking care of it while you are on vacation (as, otherwise, they may assume you are letting your home and that would involve a change to your insurance cover).

People have been swapping homes for many years and the concept is very well known in many countries. Home Base Holidays has been running a home exchange service since 1985. Homes are available for exchange all over the world but, being based in London, we have a particularly great choice of offers in the UK.

Cheers!
