What Is Hoodia?

The hoodia is more than we’ve heard on TV and in diet pill commercials. Hoodia itself is a plant, something that people should become much more familiar with than they currently are.

A quick search on Wikipedia would give you the information I am about to, but to simplify the process a little I am going to make an easy to follow fact list:

  • Hoodia is just the generic name for a family of succulent plants found in the Namib Desert.
  • It is the Hoodia Gordonii plant which is believed to be the one which can suppress appetite.
  • The plant is at times called cactiform because it resembles, although it is not related to, the cactus.
  • They can grow up to 1m high and tend to grow flowers.
