Partnership Facts

There’s a limited partnership and a regular partnership when we talk about this. So unless I specify one way, this fact list is going to be about the average partnership. Here is my compiled list of facts about partnerships:
- A partnership is simply a business that has more than one owner, and is not filed as a corporation or LLC.
- There are 2 types of partnership; limited and general partnership.
- This is the simplest and cheapest co-owned business structure type to operate. So if you’re looking to bring someone in on your business venture, it might be a good option.
- Like a sole proprietor, each partner is individually reliable for the business. In a limited partnership, they’re not. That might be worth keeping in mind before you do go into a partnership.
- On the other hand, some partners may have limited liability, especially if they were just an investor. All that is lost there would be the investment. Look into it more thoroughly before taking this step. It’s important to know what you and your partners may be entering into.
